The simple answer to this is yes it has! But how does it help or affect you in the cold light of day as an Entrepreneur, a Consultant or as a Business Development Manager in this field.
I dare say that it hasn’t been all bad; yes I will admit that deals might not be as big as they use to be before this happen, you probably won’t get deals as often as you use to. But with the huge number of employees being laid off work, most of them competition, that’s a significant number of individuals who have stop chasing your leads, in the case of a Business Development Manager. Client’s and would be clients trust your sound advice more in terms of where to put their money in the case of consultants. And I guess entrepreneurs like myself bear the brunt of the pain, because our pockets have undoubtedly hit the hardest.
The problem with all of this is that while small businesses suffer, while companies like Google, still manage to make substantial gains even when no one is spending on online advertising.
But that is not the only promising news floating around, it is also widely said according to this article, that SEM (Search Engine Marketing) figures are up, as companies move from the standard traditional form of advertising (print, television and radio), to search advertising. According to the report, another cause for this new found optimism in the third quarter is due to the emergence of new search categories like pharmaceuticals and entertainment.
Actually the real irritation comes from, those of you who are making it, in this disfigured economic system, my question to you all is, first of all; How do you do it? And can you teach it to some of us less fortunate?
I welcome all your views!
